Supporting anxiety through outdoor learning
A 3 hour course for parents and professionals to learn and explore how to use the natural environment to help reduce anxiety. Courses cost £50 per person (concessions available)
Supporting anxiety through outdoor learning is designed for parents and education professionals to explore together the nature of anxiety, how anxiety can present itself and how to support ourselves and our children to manage anxiety. During the morning we will take time to reflect on techniques that could be useful to support anxious children in any setting. Together we will explore a range of CBT techniques to support and promote self regulation. We will reflect on the role of outdoor learning in promoting resilience and developing strategies to manage challenging situations.
Opportunities will be provided for:
Working within nature to explore how connecting with our natural environment can aid alleviating anxiety
Reflecting on anxiety, what causes anxiety and what can support change?
Learning practical ways to help reduce anxiety and support wellbeing
Developing health and wellbeing in the outdoors
Exploring how to use natural resources for a range of purposes
All our courses are held in beautiful outdoor settings with a campfire morning tea and chances to reflect and share experiences and learning together.
